What is a Solana token?
A Solana token is a fungible digital asset created through one of Solana's token programs. Its mint account defines properties such as supply, decimals and authorities, while metadata gives wallets and explorers a name, symbol, image and project information.
What is the difference between SPL Token and Token 2022?
SPL Token uses Solana's original Token Program and offers the most established ecosystem compatibility, with metadata managed through Metaplex. Token 2022 uses the newer Token Extensions Program; this generator stores its metadata through the Metadata Pointer and Token Metadata extensions. Check the applications you plan to use before choosing a program.
Can I create a Solana token without coding?

Which Solana wallets can I use?

Can I test the token before deploying on mainnet?
Yes. Select Solana devnet to test the complete creation flow without a service fee.
Where are the logo and metadata stored?
Immediately before deployment, the generator uploads the optional logo and metadata JSON to IPFS and writes an https://ipfs.io/ipfs/CID URI into the on-chain token metadata. If no logo is selected, no image file or image property is created.
What information can I add to token metadata?
You can add a name, symbol, description, optional logo, website, X, Telegram and Discord links, plus up to five comma-separated tags. The generated metadata JSON is uploaded to IPFS during the deployment flow.
Why is my Solana token logo or information not visible on Solscan?
Solana Explorer should read the on-chain metadata and IPFS URI automatically. Solscan may require an additional token reputation or information update before showing the latest logo and project details. If your token information is not visible there yet, follow Solscan's token reputation guide.
What happens when I revoke mint authority?
After the initial supply is minted, no wallet can create additional tokens. This permanently fixes the maximum supply and can be recognized by explorers and security scanners as a positive safety signal.
What happens when I revoke freeze authority?
The token no longer has an authority capable of freezing holder token accounts. This reduces centralized control and is permanent, so revoke it only when your project does not require account-freezing controls.
Can token metadata be made immutable?
Yes. Select Revoke Update to remove the metadata update authority after creation. This prevents later changes to the name, symbol and metadata URI. Verify every field first because the revocation cannot be reversed.
Who receives the initial token supply?
The complete initial supply is minted to the associated token account owned by the wallet that approves deployment. The generator does not retain custody of the tokens.
Will my token automatically appear on a DEX?
No. Creating the token produces the mint, metadata and initial supply, but it does not create a market or liquidity pool. To make the token tradable, you must use a compatible DEX, provide liquidity and follow that platform's listing process.
