The SPL Token template creates a fungible asset using Solana's original Token Program, the standard most widely recognized across wallets, explorers, exchanges, DEXs and dApps. It is designed for projects that need maximum ecosystem compatibility, predictable token behavior and familiar Metaplex metadata support. Choose the token program deliberately

SPL Token uses the established Token Program and Metaplex metadata. Choose it when broad compatibility with existing Solana tooling is the priority.

Mint, supply and recipient

Deployment creates a new mint account and mints the full initial supply to the associated token account owned by the connected wallet. Decimals define the smallest token unit and cannot be changed after creation.

Metadata and IPFS

The optional logo and metadata JSON are uploaded to IPFS immediately before deployment. Compatible wallets and explorers use that metadata for the token name, symbol, image, description, tags and project links.

Review authorities before signing

Mint, freeze and metadata update authorities control future supply, token-account freezes and metadata edits. Revoking an authority is permanent, so verify the token configuration and test the complete flow on devnet first.

After deployment

Creating the token does not automatically create a market or liquidity pool. Trading requires a compatible DEX, market setup and liquidity after deployment.
